Danielle of Little Geese Shop, a boutique dedicated to stylish, sustainable, primarily second-hand kid’s clothing and gear, shares a bit more about her business, her family, and what her ideal day in Tosa looks like.
Tell us a bit about your family. How many kids do you have? And what are their ages?
My husband, Jeff, and I have three kids — Eliza (7), Caroline (5), and Oscar (2). We clearly need an updated family photo because this one is from 2022! We also have two cats, Ron and Violet.
We know you’re currently “popping up” at the Little Village Play Cafe, but have plans to open your own brick and mortar location soon. Can you tell us a bit about your business and plans for the future?
We’re a community-focused, curated children’s boutique, specializing in preloved clothing and gear. It’s been so fantastic having the pop up at Little Village. I’m so grateful that Abi suggested it! It’s been the perfect way to introduce the business to the community and build inventory through buying events. We are working on a space in the Tosa area to be our permanent home and hope to have updates soon—stay tuned! For now, you can find us at Little Village, at least through the end of the year.
If you had an entirely free day in Wauwatosa, how would you spend it?
Brunch at North Avenue Grill or Midtown Grill (fun fact: John’s Sandwich Shop, the restaurant that used to be in Midtown’s space, was my first job when I was 14, and my second job was at Swan Pharmacy, so I’ve been working at and with Tosa local businesses for over 20 years!), head over to Little Village with the kids for some playtime or a fun class, then onto the Tosa Village with friends for shopping, strolling, and apps/drinks somewhere fun, and then meeting up with the family at Joy Ice Cream.
What are your favorite spots to frequent in and around the city?
North Avenue Grill, Midtown Grill, Crafty Cow, The Little Village Play Cafe, Shop Privy, Lyss and Littles, Wauwatiki, Jose’s Blue Sombrero, Lucky Joe’s, Ruby Tap, Joy Ice Cream… probably forgetting so many, because there’s such a fabulous small business community!
