Two incredible high school theatre programs are showcasing their talent this month!

At Wauwatosa East High School, the Tosa East Players are bringing “Ride the Cyclone” to life, led by Theater Director Colleen Jaskulski. It’s a story that’s as imaginative as it is emotional, filled with music, humor, heart, and just a touch of the supernatural. This show celebrates student artists—their hard work, courage, and creativity. Every solo, every group number, and every backstage moment is a testament to their talent and dedication. Over at DSHA, students are producing their version of the Tony Award-winning musical “Hadestown.” A modern retelling of the Orpheus and Eurydice myth, the show blends jazz, folk, and blues into a beautiful journey about love, hope, and resilience. It’s a community effort that shines a light on collaboration, imagination, and the joy of storytelling. Get your tickets here for November 14 & 15!

Both productions, while very different in style, share a common thread: they honor the students behind the scenes as much as the ones on stage. They remind us that high school theatre isn’t just about lights or sets; it’s about giving young people the space to think, feel, and express themselves fully.

A round of applause for the students, the directors, the crews, and everyone who makes these productions possible! You don’t just put on a show—you bring stories to life, inspiring all of us to dream, to create, and to be ourselves.
