Extra celebrating during the holidays leads most of us to a place where we need to reign it in. Whether it is participating in Veganuary or Dry January, here are some restaurants and delivery options that can make it a little easier to hit your New Year’s resolutions and stay on track.

LOCAL

Sweetgreen

Located at The Corners in Brookfield, as well as in the Historic Third Ward, Sweetgreen offers an expansive list of healthy options to create salads and bowls. During the winter, I love the kale with roasted mushrooms and quinoa. The spicy cashew dressing is delicious.

Café Manna

One of the original vegetarian/vegan restaurants in the area, the chefs here are known for their potassium broth, which is a rich, umami broth with root vegetables. While absolutely delicious, it is said to be alkalizing, mineralizing, and helps to flush toxins. Try the jackfruit tacos, too.

Goddess and the Baker

While known for decadent desserts and Instagram-worthy drinks, the salads and breakfast items are hearty and healthy. I love the Iron Man Scramble and the Grilled Salmon Kale Caesar. Vegan options are also offered.

Beerline Café

Vegans and non-vegans love the menu at this tiny gem of a café, which features fresh-squeezed fruit and vegetable juices, crepes and tons of vegan options. The tofu scramble is remarkably good. A perfect place to meet up with a friend and still keep your resolutions.

DELIVERY

Sakara

While pricey, Sakara offers a few different subscriptions for clean food delivery. The food is nutrient dense and colorful. With options like Sakara Glow Granola and Pink Silk Mylk and a bright-blue Pea Flower Rice with Yuzu dressing, the company highlights a lot of interesting superfoods. You also receive a multi-vitamin pack and balancing teas.

Daily Harvest

This company started with just smoothies and has now expanded to include bowls, pastas, soups and flatbreads. If you have a hard time getting your fruits and veggies in, this is a great option. Organic fruits and vegetables are used, and the meals are easy to prepare. These can add up quickly in your freezer if you aren’t disciplined to eat them, but are a really great option for a quick and healthy meal.
